Very smart article probing at some very deep issues and asking a very sharp question. I think we all like to think that our lives are truly our own but then we have to reexamine that and acknowledge how each of us is always trying to get approval from someone somewhere. The question of happiness might enter the picture, too. Just because someone has a life that is truly theirs does that mean they are happy, or to some degree will we always rely on public opinion for our happiness?
